What We Do

The African Community Center of Lowell has developed programs based on the core values of the organization. The goal is to educate our new refugee and immigrant population as well as our community about the unique strength and talents each person has to offer to our community.

Our Core Programs:

Mentoring: One-to-One Assistance for Immigrants and Refugees

Community Voices: Speaker series connecting newcomers to local leaders

Learning Opportunities: Classes and Workshops sharing skills and information

Summer School: Youth program fostering skills for school, cultural pride, and self-confidence

Other Programs:

  • ACCL serves as a bridge between African immigrants and refugees and the larger community. ACCL provides consultation and mediation at schools, in the court system, and with government entities.

  • ACCL also works to bring African culture to the Greater Lowell Community at large, fostering cross-cultural connections. As an example, in 2023 ACCL participated in planning and creating the “One City Many Cultures” exhibit at the Lowell National Historical Park.

Please check our Upcoming Programs page for current events and schedules.
